And for even more security a key cabinet with electronic combination and a cabinet made from 1.5mm steel and an attack resistant rim and an index key system, it will cost about £250.

The next step up in key vault systems with electronic combination locks and a heavy duty key cabinet made from 2.5mm steel with 3mm flat closing door to withstand attack will run you about £325.

High Security Key Cabinet

Even more sophisticated is a key cabinet made from 2.5mm steel with 3mm door to withstand forced entry that costs around £470. And for those who need a high security cabinet made of 3mm welded steel plate and a 6mm steel door, with 3-way bolt locking and a dial combination lock with over 1 million codes, there is a model that costs about £580. The next notch up runs about £825 and has all the same features only s larger.

There are also key cabinets that are much like any other vault or high security safe that are fire resistant and can house videos, DVD’s, CD’s microfilm as well as keys. These units have programmable digital keypads and access to the power source from the front panel. Some also come with anti tamper alarms and a security code registration system to avoid lock-out situations. They also have battery backup power supplies. For all that they seem relatively inexpensive starting at about £580.

The Euro Grade freestanding key safes are near the top of quality and price. For under £1,500.you can have a key cabinet with a door that opens 180, fitted with fire seal – 30 minutes protection at 750 degrees, 40mm locking bolts on all four sides a combination, digital and dual locking that can be bolted to a concrete floor. The same features but larger and a bit stronger costs about £2,000.
